Some News from Around the World of LENR

There is quite a bit of big news going on in the world of low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) these days. Not all of which involves Andrea Rossi and his ecat.

Some big news includes: Airbus the giant European aircraft corporation has filed for a US Patent on something that sounds like LENR. Patent Application 2016/0228767 A1 is for “An environmentally friendly heat source suitable for the transportation sector.” The introduction mentions LENR and “an exothermic reaction in the form of a metal lattice supported hydrogen process.”

Who Owns the E-Cat Now?

Andrea Rossi might have other financial backers for his e-cat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology that we might be unaware of.

The existence of such a backer seems to be revealed by Rossi’s lawsuit against his former partners at Industrial Heat LLC. E-cat World’s Frank Acland pointed out that one of the key witnesses in the case is JM Chemical Products Inc.; the Florida company involved in the e-cat tests that took place in Miami earlier this year.

Test of the Hot E-cat this could be the E-cat Quark X in action.

Tesla Gigafactory in Production

Production of batteries has begun at Elon Musk’s gigantic Gigafactory in Northern Nevada. Bloomberg reported that the $5 billion factory is already churning out Powerwall home batteries.

The factory will turn nickel, cobalt, aluminum, lithium and silicon into the batteries for the half million cars; Musk claims Tesla will build by 2018, just two years from now. Currently the factory is only making battery packs for home and commercial use.

US House Investigates LENR, Hyperloop Technology Demonstrated

The United States Congress is investigating the US Defense Department’s work on low energy nuclear reaction (LENR).

Popular Mechanics reported that the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives (the lower chamber of Congress) has requested a briefing on the Pentagon’s LENR research. The briefing from the US Secretary of Defense is supposed to take place September 22, 2016. The Committee is apparently interested in work that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA); and the US Navy reportedly did on LENR.

The Ecat Report is Here!!

A report of the results of independent testing on Andrea Rossi’s e-cat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) device is now available. Unfortunately the report is currently only available to Rossi and Industrial Heat which means that company’s owner Tom Darden undoubtedly has a copy.

This is is the latest artist's conception of Rossi's one megawatt ecat. unit.

There is no word on when the report will be made public but Rossi apparently received a copy on March 29 which was Tuesday. The inventor did say was in the report but he did make this post at his blog:

Industrial Heat involved in LENR Research in China and Around the World

Industrial Heat LLC the company that owns the rights to Andrea Rossi’s e-cat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology has signed a major deal to transfer technology to China.

HydroFusion reported that Industrial Heat backer and Cherokee Partners CEO Tom Darden had signed an agreement to partriciate in the Baishishan International Innovation Park of China-US Science and Technology this appears to be a technology park similar to the Research Triangle in North Carolina where Industrial Heat is based.

Global Warming its Worse than We Thought

The damage done to the atmosphere by greenhouse gases could be far worse than we think. The effects of current burning of fossil fuels could be felt for over 100,000 years according to scientists at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research in Germany.

Whooly Mammoths during the last ice age

To make matters the same research indicates that even limited burning of fossil fuels and other materials by humans could have a massive impact on the world’s climate. Andrey Ganopolski the lead researcher on the Institute’s latest study told CNN that he thinks that the burning of fossil fuels for the last two centuries could have delayed the next ice age by 100,000 years.

Rossi claims “Well Known Companies” Have Placed Orders for E-cat

It is easy to see why a lot of people do not take Andrea Rossi very seriously. He has made yet another round of sensational yet unsubstantiated claims about his E-cat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology.

In an interview with Frank Acland that popped up on e-catworld.com on October 25, 2015, Rossi said “yes” when Acland asked: “Have you had any orders so far from well-known companies?”

Unfortunately Acland forgot to ask the next logical question which is: “can you identify those companies?” Since Acland did not ask the question, the response above is absolutely meaningless. Even if Rossi refused to identify the companies that would at least be a response. It would also be news.

LENR Space Propulsion System Proposed

Longtime low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) researcher George H. Miley is proposing a cold fusion power system designed especially for spacecraft. Miley and four other researchers Kyu-Jung Kim, Erik Ziehm, Tapan Patel and Bert Stunkard have published a paper called Progress in Development of an LENR Power Cell for Space.

In the paper Miley and his colleagues propose the use of ultra-high density deuterium clusters in nanoparticles to create a reaction involving super-hot gas. To my layperson’s eyes this looks like a design for an LENR powered rocket which is fascinating.

Green Fuel Destroys Forest increases Greenhouse Gases and Global Warming Threat

Yet another “green energy source” has been exposed as a threat to the environment. The Washington Post reported that large numbers of trees are being cut down in parts of the United States in order to supply wood pellets to European power plants.

An Enviva Wood Pellet plant notice all the pollution created

The wood pellets are part of a green energy scam known as biomass, biomass means burning wood instead of coal instead of power plants. A number of European countries including Britain are importing large amounts of wood pellets as a coal replacement. US production of wood pellets doubled between 2012 and 2014 growing from two million to 4.4 million tons according to The Post.
