Andrea Rossi’s Leonardo Corporation is now selling a product it calls “ECAT Heat Energy.” This appears to be a steam heating system powered by Rossi’s Ecat low-energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology.

Rossi at work in his cargo container.

Few details about ECAT Heat Energy are available except that it produces steam heated to temperatures of 100 to 120 degrees Celsius (212 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit for my fellow Americans). This moves through heat exchangers that can deliver temperatures of between five and 95 degrees Celsius (41 and 203 degrees Fahrenheit). This sounds as if Rossi is producing a commercial heating and possibly a hot water heating system.

Interestingly enough the costs of the system are not available but the ecat.com website is offering price quotes for interested customers. It also mentions ECAT plants which are presumably Rossi’s cargo container sized ecat units. Interestingly enough Rossi himself is involved in the process. A disclaimer on the site reads as follows:

“I understand the submitted information will be sent to Andrea Rossi, Leonardo Corporation. Any inquiry to buy ECAT products is non-binding, and orders will be put on a waiting list.”

That presumably means that ECAT Heat Energy is not available now but will be in the future. I also have to wonder if Rossi is looking people to help him test his heating technology. The site does not say whether ECAT Heat Energy utilizes the original technology or Rossi’s hot ecat.

One also has to wonder how this will affect Rossi’s agreement with Industrial Heat LLC and its backer Tom Darden of the Cherokee Fund. Last Darden reportedly bought the rights to Rossi’s process for $11 million.

Rossi is still heavily involved in the Ecat development process. He told visitors to his website that he had a bed brought into the cargo container where he works so he can rest up after hernia surgery on July 20, 2015. Note such surgery is not that serious my father had it a couple of years ago, within a few weeks of it he was chopping wood and walking several miles a day.

This was confirmed by July 23, Rossi admitted he was back to work as normal and working on a new version of the hot ECAT:

“Gian Luca:

He,he,he… By the way, it’s 8 a.m. here, I am inside the plant and well; no more necessity of painkillers, I can work as always without any pain. Hernia is over, work is as usual.

We are working on the new version of the Hot cat, from which I have great expectations, while the 1 MW E-Cat is stable.

Warm Regards,

A.R.”

Once again Rossi mentioned the mysterious one megawatt ecat plant which is being tested at an unknown location. Note that plant produces one megawatt of heat so it could be the ECAT Heat Energy.

Hopefully we’ll soon see ECAT Heat Energy in operation somewhere where it can be examined. That way we can finally discover if Rossi really has figured out how to make steam from LENR.
